Joe Schaffer, Training Manager
18 years in the IT industry, 8 with Acuma, and 13 years IT training experience. Joe set up the Acuma education department and has overseen its growth from 1996 when it only delivered Business Objects training courses, to its present status as an IITT Gold Standard accredited training department developing and delivering a range of courses in business intelligence and data warehousing. Expert in data warehousing, Business Objects and Kalido, Joe has worked on data warehouse implementation projects in many commercial sectors. Before joining Acuma, Joe has previously worked as an analyst for various IT consultancy firms, with project work in the financial, retail and public sectors. Joe has had a mixed consultant / training role since he first started delivering training in CASE tools and the SSADM project methodology in 1991.

Julie Shaw, Training Consultant
24 years in IT, 5 years in Training. Expert in data warehousing, BusinessObjects and Kalido. Worked as a consultant for Acuma for 3 years on various projects across many different industry sectors before joining the accredited instructor programme, and later transferring into the Training team.

Julie Smith, Training Consultant
11 years in IT, 4 years in Training. Expert in data warehousing and BusinessObjects. Created a BusinessObjects centre of excellence while working in the finance sector, and led it for 3 years. Has worked on many customer data warehouse projects mainly in the finance sector.

Stu Orvis, Training Consultant
13 years in IT, 5 years in Training. Expert in acusend™ and BusinessObjects. Also skills in MS SQL Server, Oracle and Mercury load testing software. Has worked on various customer projects in BusinessObjects, such as implementing a complex reporting solution for a county council, designing and implementing the environment for a company in the manufacturing sector, and designing and implementing a customised training programme for a company in the finance sector. Has prepared and delivered many customised BusinessObjects courses for customers in sectors including manufacturing, finance and travel. Has also written specialised courses in introductory and advanced acusend™ administration and in basics of structured query lanuage (SQL).

Ian Watson, Training Consultant
19 years in IT, 9 years in Training. Expert in Cognos, BusinessObjects and ProClarity reporting toolsets. Has created bespoke training programmes for end users and IT trainers in retail, pharmaceutical and telecommunications sectors.

Sarah Coke, Technical Consultant
15 years in IT, 13 years in Training. Expert in data warehousing and BusinessObjects. Worked for the Acuma Training team for 2 years before transferring into the consultancy practice, while continuing to deliver Training part-time. Has worked on many customer data warehouse projects, mainly in the Airlines sector.

Lisa Kent, Technical Consultant
15 years in IT, 1 year in Training. Expert in data warehousing, Kalido, BusinessObjects and Cognos. Has worked on many customer data warehouse projects across various industry sectors.  After joining Acuma in 2000, enrolled on the accredited instructor programme 18 months ago.  Now delivers training on a part-time basis.

Damien Blood, Training Consultant
8 years in IT, 1 year in Training. Expert in Crystal Reports, BusinessObjects, Kalido and data warehousing. Has been with Acuma for 4 years in which time he has been responsible for supporting all the BusinessObjects products, plus Kalido and database platforms. He has also spent a large amount of his time in development and consulting roles using VBA, ASP and HTML skills.
