| Acuma
have developed a methodology for developing highly valuable
workshop courses that are very specific to your needs.
The course can easily be tailored to cover only those
learning topics that matter most to you, by choosing from
a menu of available course topics. The course can quickly
be customised to your environment, by only customising
the workshop exercises and not spending additional effort
customising all the course theory demonstrations and other
printed materials which may continue to refer to the training
environment without detracting from the purpose of the
workshops. We call this an integrated workshop, integrating
generic course theory demonstrations with customer-specific
workshop exercises on your own environment.
To produce a tailored workshop you
must select a set of course modules from our menu list,
to form a sensible learning experience. This may encompass
additional topics such as ntroducing the context of
the current business environment, or to cover local
support issues. We often plan time for a general question
and answer or tips and tricks session, and/or an unstructured
workshop exercise session allowing learners to explore
the areas of most interest to themselves, with the course
instructor available to provide the right level of guidance. We will gladly help you select the learning
modules of most value, and complete the course structure
with other sessions as necessary to meet your learning
needs.
To produce an integrated workshop
you must provide us with the necessary input to customise
the workshops. This means providing sample data (such
as a database extract and sample reports and other environmental
set-up information), so we can simulate your working
environment during the course. We also need some meaningful
business examples or scenarios so that we can design
realistic workshop exercises that will be of value on
the course. Typically we run these workshops on Acuma
kit with a simulated environment, but as an alternative
we could put the training examples onto your kit and
run the workshop on the full working environment.
It typically
takes one to two days for set-up and familiarisation
with the customised environment, and one day to create
and document the workshop exercises for each day of
delivery. Depending on the modules chosen there may
be additional time needed to finalise the structure
of the tailored workshop.
