This leading multinational pharmaceutical group is in the process of decommissioning a number of toxicology data systems in order to reduce the operational IT costs of the business. However in order to continue to comply with industry regulations and to to be able to use data contained within those systems in future trials full access to the data was still required.

In order to achieve the benefits of the live system and to further enhance data availability Acuma developed a safety assessment data system by designed and implementing a data warehouse with a number of individual data marts across a number of toxicology systems.

The solution allowed users within the group to access data more easily and at a faster speed than from the live system and at the same time be able to analyse and extract data from a number of studies and systems at the same time. The system continues to be further developed with new data sources being added as they become available.
