Delivery Stages
Aligned to the concept the following provides the next layer of extrapolation (a logical view) as we address the delivery and decommissioning of solutions in four main stages as illustrated in the diagram below.
Assess
Working with our customer we identify and assess the requirements and associated business case. This may take many forms, either as part of an IM Strategy & Roadmap or simply a one off short, sharp project assessment. Based on a clear understanding of requirements and the business case a plan of action is agreed.
Acuma IVM
Acuma has over 20+ years experience of delivering Information Management solutions and Acuma’s Information Value Model (IVM), a full lifecycle methodology, has been developed to encapsulate all of our acquired knowledge and experience around IM solutions delivery.
Deliver
In-line with the output of the assess stage, this designs, builds, configures, tests, and implements the IM solution. It also includes training and the implementation of organisation and process improvements. We define implementation as the initial transfer of the developed solution into the live environment. The further roll-out and deployment e.g. to additional users is handled in the exploit stage.

Exploit
The exploit stage actively uses the IM capability. It exploits the IM solution to improve business performance, scales the technology to provide access to more information for more users, roles out process and organisation changes across IT and the business, trains and mentors more users, and based on the experience provides feedback to direct further improvements in the capability.
Rationalise
This focuses on making additional cost savings by re-deploying technology and resources, rationalising / switching off IM infrastructure components, archiving and securing the data in-line with regulatory and data protection requirements, and the termination of old contracts. This recognises that to maximise business benefit information management must be ‘end-to-end’.
Through active leadership (Lead) it continually ensures that the solution aligns with the changing needs of the business. Maintaining a flexible approach and tightly coupling business activity with a responsive IM environment ensures that an organisation can rapidly adapt to change and address new market opportunities and issues.
